British inventor Sir Charles Wheatstone died on this day in 1875. Wheatstone is credited by some British historians as having invented the harmonica in 1828.
Rock musician Skid Roper plays several instruments, including the harmonica. He’s partnered on and off with fellow musician Mojo Nixon since the mid 1980’s. Roper was born on this day in 1954.
Jug band guitar and harmonica player Eugene “Buddy” Moss died on this day in 1984. Moss began playing professionally when he was twelve and during the 1920’s and 30’s he worked with several Jug bands as well as doing duets with Barbecue Bob, Curley Weaver and Blind Willie McTell.
