Blues singer and harmonica player Little Sammy Davis was born on this day in 1928. Davis began playing the harmonica when he was eight and began making records in 1952. His career was fairly quiet until he started to make a comeback in the 1990’s.
Blues singer, guitar and harmonica player Willie McFalls, also known as Blues Boy Willie, came from a musical family, where he learned to play music. He began playing professionally in the 1970’s and has been active since then. McFalls was born on this day in 1946.
Blues singer, washboard and harmonica player Papa Alexander Lightfoot died on this day in 1971. Lightfoot began recording in 1949 and during his career he worked with Dinah Washington, Fats Domino, Sonny Boy Williamson II and other Blues greats.
