Harmonica Almanac – November 24

Blues harmonica player Earlee Payton was born on this day in 1923. Payton began playing the harmonica around 1942 and by 1948 he had gotten good enough to sit in with the Muddy Waters Band. In 1954 he recorded his first record.

Classical composer Walter Anderson wrote “Fantasie for Harmonica and Orchestra” for John Sebastian in 1947. Anderson died on this day in 2003.

That’s it for today. Have fun and practice!
