Harmonica Almanac – November 21

Baseball legend Stan Musial was born on this day in 1920. Musial was a star for the St. Louis Cardinals, but he also loved to play the harmonica. He even wrote an instructional book for the harmonica.

Blues guitar and harmonica player Robert Jr. Lockwood was the stepson of Blues legend Robert Johnson, who taught him how to play guitar. He learned some of his harmonica playing from Sonny Boy Williamson II and over the years he worked with dozens of Blues greats as well as having a stellar solo career. Lockwood died on this day in 2006.

That’s it for today. Have fun and practice!
