Harmonica Almanac – November 12

Blues singer, guitar and harmonica player Booker T. “Bukka” White was born on this day in 1906. White began playing music when he was nine years old and was working professionally by 1921.

Folk singer-songwriter, guitar and harmonica player Neil Young often plays the harmonica on a neckbrace to play fills during his songs. Young has been a force in music since the 1960’s and is still very active. Neil Young was born on this day in 1945.

Blues singer and harmonica player Lester Butler was born on this day in 1959. Butler had a short career but managed to work with Billy Boy Arnold, R.L. Burnside, Mick Jagger and others as well as recording his own music.
