Harmonica player and historian Kim Field was born on this day in 1951. Kim wrote the book “Harmonicas, Harps & Heavy Breathers” which tells the story of the harmonica in America. I strongly recommend it.
Utah Phillips
Folk singer-songwriter, guitar and harmonica player Bruce “Utah” Phillips began playing music professionally after serving in the Korean War. He recorded over a dozen albums and often played the harmonica on a neckbrace. Phillips died on this day in 2008.
