Harmonica Almanac – March 9

Canadian blues harmonica player King Biscuit Boy was born on this day in 1944. He began recording and performing with various bands starting in the early 1960’s and eventually went solo, releasing quite a few albums of Blues harmonica.

Country drummer and harmonica player Jimmie Fadden has been with the Nitty Gritty Dirt band since its inception and plays some really tasty harmonica on many of their best songs. Fadden was born on this day in 1948.

Country singer, guitar and harmonica player Chris LeDoux died on this day in 2005. LeDoux learned to play the guitar and harmonica when he was a teenager, ultimately recording dozens of albums of his own music.

That’s it for today. Have fun and practice!
