Harmonica Almanac – March 4

Blues guitar and harmonica player Tom Shaw was born on this day in 1908. Shaw learned to play the harmonica from his father when he was nine years old. He was playing for tips while he was in his teens and even worked with Blind Lemon Jefferson for a while.

Blues singer Good Rockin’ Charles Edwards began working in the Chicago Blues scene in 1949. He later added the harmonica to fill the breaks between his singing. Charles was born on this day in 1933.

That’s it for today. Have fun and practice!
