Blues guitar and harmonica player Robert Jr. Lockwood was born on this day in 1915. Lockwood learned how to play the guitar from his stepfather, Robert Johnson and later worked with Sonny Boy Williamson II, who probably taught him some of his harmonica playing.
Harmonica genius Richard Hayman began his career playing in harmonica bands in the 1930’s and 40’s. He then focused his attention on working in Hollywood, arranging the music for several classic musicals. He remained active as a player and arranger for the rest of his life. Hayman was born on this day in 1920.
That’s it for today. Have fun and practice!
