Harmonica Almanac – January 5

President Calvin Coolidge was one of seven known harmonica-playing presidents. He died on this day in 1933.

Vaudeville harmonica player Sid Gould died on this day in 1996. He played with the Harmonica Harlequins in the 1930’s. You can also see him playing the harmonica with his nose in the movie “Police Academy 4”.

Blues harmonica player King Biscuit Boy died on this day in 2003. He started performing and recording in his native Canada in the 1960’s and remained fairly active until shortly before his death.

That’s it for today. Have fun and practice!

I am the author of "The Encyclopedia of the Harmonica", which is still available on the internet in limited edition.
