Harmonica Almanac – February 14

Country harmonica pioneer Lonnie Glosson was born on this day in 1908. Glosson came to national attention playing on the National Barn Dance radio show in the 1920’s. In 1936 he partnered up with fellow harmonica player Wayne Raney and the two worked together on and off until the 1960’s.
Folk singer-songwriter Eric Andersen was a part of the same Greenwich Village folk scene that gave us Tom Paxton, Joan Baez, Judy Collins and others. He plays harmonica on a neckbrace. Andersen was born on this day in 1943.
That’s it for today. Have fun and practice!
