Blues harmonica player Johnny Dyer was born on this day in 1938. Dyer Began playing the harmonica at the age of seven while growing up on the Stovall plantation in Mississippi. During his career he worked with George “Harmonica” Smith, Shakey Jake Harris, Rod Piazza and others.
Blues guitar and harmonica player Johnny Mars taught himself to play when he was 13 years old. Over the years he’s formed several bands and remains active to this day. Mars was born on this day in 1942.
