Harmonica Almanac – December 31
Chord harmonica player Jimmy Mulcay died on this day in 1968. Jimmy played in various Vaudeville harmonica bands in the 1930’s and 40’s. He mostly played as a duet with his wife, Mildred and helped to put together the harmonica group, The Quintones, which would eventually become The Harmonicats.
Classical composer Cyril Scott wrote “Serenade for Piano and Harmonica” in 1936 for Larry Adler. Scott passed away on this day in 1970.
That’s it for today. Have fun and practice!
