Country singer-songwriter, guitar and harmonica player Hank Snow died on this day in 1999. Snow was heavily influence by Vernon Dalhart and Henry Whitter. He started recording in 1936 and began performing on the Grand Ole Opry in 1950.

Blues singer, piano and harmonica player Jimmy McCracklin began playing professionally in 1945 and over the years recording over 30 albums of his own music as well as working with others. McCracklin died on this day in 2012.
