Harmonica Almanac – August 11

Rock singer, keyboard and harmonica player Joe Jackson was born on this day in 1955. Jackson was a multiple hit-maker from the late 1970’s through the 1990’s and usually played harmonica once or twice on each of his albums.

Blues harmonica player Nat Riddles spent most of his life working out of New York City. Riddles worked with Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Bill Dicey and other Blues greats as well as giving lessons to Adam Gussow. Riddles died on this day in 1991.

That’s it for today. Have fun and practice!
