Vaudeville harmonica player George Ross was born on this day in 1916. Ross was a member of the Checker Harmonica Band, The Harmonica Rascals and The Three B’s.

Country comedian Junior Samples would sometimes play the harmonica to augment his act. Samples was a regular on the “Hee Haw” television show. Samples was born on this day in 1926.

Country Music star Jimmy Dean was born on this on this day in 1928. Dean Played several instruments, including the harmonica and had numerous hits before starting his own sausage company.

Jethro Tull lead singer Ian Anderson is best known as a flute player, but he has also played the harmonica on a few of the band’s recordings. Anderson was born on this day in 1947.
