Roy Sidney Dunn

Blues guitar and harmonica player Roy Sidney Dunn was born on this day in 1922. During the 1940’s he worked with Blind Willie McTell, Buddy Moss and Curley Weaver. He recorded his only album in the early 1970’s.

Lester Chambers

Lester Chambers

Soul singer and harmonica player Lester Chambers grew up in Mississippi, moved with his family in the early 1950’s and formed The Chambers Brothers in the early 1960’s. Chambers was born on this day in 1940.

Lowell George

Lowell George

Little Feat founder Lowell George was born on this day in 1945. George made his first national appearance playing as a harmonica duet with his brother on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour TV program. He also sang and played slide guitar.

Blues drums and harmonica player Lou Watts learned how to play the harmonica after moving to Chicago from Little Willie Smith. He worked regularly from the late 1940’s until he was shot dead on this day in 1970.
