Blues guitar, jug, kazoo and harmonica player Johnny “Jimmy” Watson, also known as “Daddy Stovepipe” was born on this day in 1867. Watson began playing professionally around 1910 and worked until his death in 1963.


Shakey Jake Harris

Blues harmonica player Shakey Jake Harris learned how to play the harmonica from John Lee “Sonny Boy” Williamson. He was a fixture in the Chicago Blues scene until his death in the 1990’s. Harris was born on this day in 1921.
